On June 15, the first version of the full-featured software of the L4 valet parking system was released! The system is the world’s first L4 valet parking system based on vehicle-end perception. This major breakthrough is a crucial milestone on the road of FAW-Hongqi’s autonomous driving development, and it has also played a good role in promoting the development of valet parking technology industry operations.
The L4 valet parking system supports commercial parking lots and private parking spaces.The vehicle can drive unmanned in the parking lot and automatically find a parking space to park. It can automatically drive out from the parking space to the location specified by the user, and can also remember the user.It effectively solves the biggest pain point of users’ parking.
In order to support a wider range of application scenarios, the system is equipped with a total of 23 sensors in 6 categories such as cameras, ultrasonic radars, and millimeter-wave radars, as well as high-precision maps of the parking lot; in terms of safety, the system adopts multiple redundant systems such as braking, steering, and Electronic and electrical architecture. Yu design, combined with functional safety and information security, ensures the security and reliability of the system.
The scheme design, control algorithm development and system integration of the L4 valet parking system are independently developed by FAW. The team adopts the agile development method, runs in small steps, iterates quickly, and responds to technical difficulties with zero delay. There are no easy paths or shortcuts for the pioneers of technology. Team members face the difficulties and work hard day and night to accumulate experience, develop more than 200 functional modules, break through more than 100 core technologies, and solve nearly 10,000 problems.
