CD Projekt Red (CDPR), the developer of “Cyber Punk 2077”, announced yesterday that due to a previous cyber attack, the 1.2 patch version of the majority of players may be delayed until late March 2021.
After the much-anticipated “Cyberpunk 2077” was released, it was unanimously condemned by players all over the world because of its poor product completion and too many bugs. The brand and business suffered a major crisis, and the 1.2 version patch contains many bug fixes and problems for players. Performance improvements to known issues are seen as the key to turning the tide in Cyberpunk 2077.
CDPR was reportedly hit by the HelloKitty ransomware earlier this month, with attackers encrypting servers in CDPR’s network while also stealing a large amount of confidential data.
The ransom note left by the attackers shows that they stole the source code for Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3, Gwent and the unreleased ray-tracing version of The Witcher 3.
The hackers also claimed to have stolen internal documents related to CDPR’s employees, administration, accounting and investor relations.
After CDPR refused to pay the ransom, the attackers began auctioning off the stolen data on hacking forums for a reserve price of $1 million, but the next day, the attackers claimed to have sold the data to people “outside the forum.”
