Vacuum casting, namely under vacuum conditions for use of prototype under the vacuum state to produce silicone mold, and mold under vacuum state adopted (PU, transparent PU, POM, ABS) casting materials such as same as the prototype copy, can reach the strength and hardness of materials such as ABS, can also according to customer needs color up mode, thus cloned copy is the same as the prototype. So what are the advantages and disadvantages of the vacuum mold?

Advantages of vacuum duplicating machining:

1. Low cost and short production cycle. Less waste, processing costs are also much lower than cnc machining and 3D printing. Because of its fast speed, low cost, a good solution to the enterprise new product research and development cycle and cost.

2. It is suitable for processing and production of small batch products. After making an original version, it can be copied according to the original version.

3. Good mold operation. After curing the soft mold are transparent or translucent, with good tensile strength, easy to cut and type.

4. Low probability of processing failure. As long as there is nothing wrong with the original, there is nothing wrong with the copy.

5. Good repeatability. The silica gel used in molding has good fluidity before curing, and can keep the fine structure and decoration of the model accurately with the help of vacuum defoaming.

However, there are also many disadvantages of the vacuum casting, such as easy to shrink and deform, because after high temperature heating and cooling will shrink, resulting in deformation, the general error is around 0.2mm. In addition, the vacuum casting can generally only withstand about 60 degrees of high temperature, in terms of strength and hardness is also lower than CNC prototypes.
